Thalia Massoni December 13th 1937 – August 24th 2022
Thalia Nicolene Massoni passed away on August, 24th 2022. She is survived by her sister, Ila Jean Kragthorpe (Ron); her previous spouse, Peter T. Massoni I; and 3 children: Jennifer Cronin (Brian), Peter T. Massoni II (Bobbie), and Leslie Rugg (David): three grandchildren (Autumn, Randy, Averie) and 4 great grandchildren (Sophiea, Estelle, Ny’Eilah, Justin, Jr.).
Thalia lived a full life. She grew up in both Mound, Minnesota and Chicago, Illinois and enjoyed ice skating, puzzles and baking during the harsh winters. During summer she went horse-back riding, sailing and helped her mother, Ruth Warrington in the garden. Thalia was part of the school choir, enjoyed synchronized swimming and playing stick ball with her brothers, Ron and Bill Warrington.
After moving to California, she married Pete Massoni I, in 1962. Early in her marriage, Thalia volunteered as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. As a dedicated wife and mother, she cooked, sewed, trained her own horse, “Red” in Antioch. Later, Thalia worked in a rewarding career as a Teacher’s Aide for students at Shore Acres Elementary School in Pittsburg, CA from 1978 to 2004. She has positively impacted the lives of the students she has helped and tutored.
Thalia was of the Lutheran faith and attended both Concordia Lutheran and St. John’s Lutheran churches. Her family grieves her loss, but also rejoices in their mother’s faith having trusted Jesus Christ as her Savior. May she rest in peace. Please contact Higgins Funeral Home for further details.
