“My family is both deeply saddened and joyful to announce that Sandy Thompson Reither has gone home to be with Jesus after 6 years of fiercely battling with her cancer. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family. We are all still reeling but have been very supported by both our biological family and church family. She was such an amazing example of steadfast faith to all those who witnessed her journey and we are so blessed to have had her. While we wish she could have stayed for longer, we are so happy that she is no longer suffering here, but is rejoicing with the Lord in her new body. We want to thank everyone who lifted up our family in prayer, as we all felt the peace of the Lord through the toughest times. Please continue to pray for us as we heal from this and give us grace if we don't respond to condolences immediately.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, please check her Facebook page for a link to donate to her favorite charity, EBARR, which supports animals in need. Thank you for your thoughts, prayers, and even for your tears as that shows how much she was loved by everyone who knew her.
We will be holding her service on Saturday 2/25 at 2pm. It will take place at Laurel Ridge Community Church in Oakley (2459 Laurel Rd, Oakley, CA 94561). Everyone who wants to come is more than welcome. Please leave a comment if you're planning on attending and how many of your family will be there. Thank you!
After the service has concluded, we will be moving for the reception to our home church, First Family Church, in Antioch (3195 Contra Loma Blvd, Antioch, CA 94509). We will be serving desserts, tea, and coffee at the reception.”
