Michael Allen Menez
Michael Allen Menez, 58, passed away on October 15, 2021 with his loving wife by his side. Michael was born in Concord, CA and moved to Oakley in his early teens. He graduated from Liberty High School in 1981.
Mike worked as a truck driver for Crystal Dairy for 27 years and was in the Teamsters Union for 36 years. He loved to hunt and enjoyed riding his bicycle up Mt. Diablo. Biking was such a major part of his life that he occasionally worked at Bikes4Life on Saturdays. He served as an Elder of his church at Eastside Church of Christ.
Mike’s greatest loves were God and his two girls. He loved spending time and laughing with his family and friends. Mike was a girl dad through and through. He loved his daughters endlessly and soaked up as much family time with them as he could. Mike enjoyed life; he enjoyed being outdoors and exploring new places with his family. He was a big Oregon Ducks fan and took pleasure in standing in long lines to have a pint of Pliny the Younger beer. One of his fond hobbies was making homemade chorizo and sausage for his family and friends, which he named “Portagoose.” Mike appreciated the times he was able to share with those he loved.
Mike is survived by his wife, Michele of Antioch, daughters, Courtney Menez of Antioch and Caitlin Menez of Santa Monica, Father and Stepmother, Ken and Kathy Menez of Arizona, Brother, David (Katie) Menez of Oakley, in-laws Ben and Joyce Zamora of Brentwood, as well as many close friends who are family. Mike is preceded in death by his mother, Anita Menez.
