John Short

April 16, 1943 ~ December 3, 2021 (age 78)


John Christopher Short, a resident of Brentwood, passed away unexpectedly on December 3, 2021 at the age of  78.  John loved his family unconditionally and was very involved in their lives,  He will be missed by family and friends..  

John was born to his parents, John Short, Sr. and Otterly May Constantine on April 16, 1943 in New Orleans, LA.  He graduated from Walter L. Cohen High School in 1960 and enlisted in the Navy after graduation.  At the  completion of  his enlistment, he worked in the automotive field for 30 plus years.  He was employed by Goodyear, Firestone/Bridgestone, and Montgomery Ward. 

John loved family gatherings.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews sharing his life adventures and advice.  His true love was fishing.  He was most happy when he went fishing in the ocean with his sons, brothers-in law and friends,  He believed he could out fish everyone and shared his skill  with anyone who needed help.

John was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jerald Constantine.  He is  survived by his wife of 47 years, Jean;  sons:  Christopher Short (Andrea), John Short (Tiffany); daughters:  Jerilyn Taylor and Alicia Short Thompson; sisters: Jerrolyn Huffman (Rolland); Jon Marie Gant (Larry) and Jackie Short Ingram; brothers:  Joe Short (Stephanie) and Kenneth Short (Treva)..
