Welcome to the memorial page for

Jeremy A. Compton

April 11, 1980 ~ July 14, 2017 (age 37)

Jeremy was born on April 11, 1980 in Pittsburg, CA and died suddenly on July 14, 2017 in Antioch, CA. Born and raised in Contra Costa County he attended and graduated from Mt. Diablo Elementary School, Pine Hollow Intermediate School, Clayton Valley High School and Diablo Valley College all located in Concord, CA.

Growing up he was a Boy Scout with Troop 444 at St. Bonaventure’s Church in Concord, CA and a member of the Morgan Territory 4-H Club in Clayton, CA.

During high school he had an affinity for cars, working on and repairing them, which developed into his career. He worked for 14 years as a well-liked and respected bus mechanic for Contra Costa County Transportation Authority (CCCTA) and recently began working as an elevator mechanic with Dwan Elevator Company in Oakland, CA.

He was a devoted father to Logan (12) and Makenzie (11). They were the center of his world and he loved to spend every moment with them that he could.

Jeremy had a uniquely special gift of bringing laughter to any situation. He was also a sensitive soul and could uplift your mood just by being in your presence. He was the life of the party, and the center of attention, just by being himself. When greeted by him what strikes you is his huge smile, fantastic sense of humor, twinkling green eyes…and of course his hugs. Everything was perfect when you received his smiles and hugs.

He was looked up to, and respected by, co-workers and friends alike. Jeremy would lend a hand to a friend or neighbor in an instant often helping them with their cars or tinkering around adding new accessories. He was a hero in hilarious shirts and if you ever were found stuck on the side of the road, he would be there to help in any way he could. He recently bought a new bike to take on his adventures, and enjoyed riding through Morgan Territory soaking up the beautiful scenery and snapping photos along the way.

He is survived by his father, Dwight Compton (or Al as he is known); mother, Barbara Erhard (Paul) of South San Francisco, CA; brother, Brian Compton (Andrea and children Maddox and Zoe) of Bremerton, WA; his children Logan and Makenzie Compton; their mother, Haley Graham (daughter Rylie); Uncle Larry Compton (Chris) of Windsor, CA; Uncle Bob Fardin of Tewksbury, MA; Aunt Bev Brown (Ritch) of Lincoln, CA; Aunt Nancy Gammel (Jim) of N. Las Vegas, NV and many cousins from the east coast to the west coast. We have all been enriched by having Jeremy in our lives.

A celebration of Jeremy’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 26th, between 4 and 8 pm at the family home in Brentwood.

If you wish to make a donation to Jeremy’s children, a GOFUNDME account has been set up at https://www.gofundme.com/logan-and-makenzie
