She is proceeded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Leota Treat, her sister, Phyllis Prenk, her brother-in-law, Martin Prenk, her sister-in-law, Nancy Treat, and her brother, Kenneth Treat. She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 66 years, Johnny Vaughan, and their five children David (Jo) Vaughan, Donald Vaughan, Dennis (Sharon) Vaughan, Dena (John) Jansen, Della (Russ) Harris, and her brothers Leo (Anita) Treat and Fred (Jackie) Treat, sister-in-law Gloria (David) Amos and 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren,
Her family moved to Antioch in 1947. She then attended Antioch Junior High and High school where she met her husband. She worked in the Antioch school district in the cafeteria for many years. She was an active member of Immanuel Baptist church, where she taught 5th & 6th grade Sunday school class, and later Laurel Ridge Community Church.
One of her hobbies was sewing. She sewed a lot of clothes for her children and granddaughters. Janice's greatest love was her family, spending time with them and caring for them. Even with all those grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Janice had every birthday memorized and would send a homemade card to celebrate each one.
Please join us in celebrating her life on May 6 at 11:00 at Laurel Ridge Community Church in Oakley. In lieu of flowers donate to your favorite charity.
