Gordon Eugene Abbo, MD, died January 30, 2023 after bravely suffering from Parkinson’s Disease for
more than 20 years. He was born April 16, 1948, in Cambridge, MA, to Fred E and Gisela N (Mueller)
Abbo. He graduated from the University of Iowa School of Medicine in 1977 and served a residency at
The Menninger Clinic in Topeka, KS. He practiced Psychiatry in Topeka, KS, Jamestown, ND, Fergus Falls,
MN, Boca Raton, FL, Abilene, TX, and Melbourne, FL. After retiring he lived in Eugene, OR, Jamestown,
CA and Antioch, CA. He loved music, playing several instruments and performing in different bands. He
also authored seven Sci-Fi books.
He was married to Anne Seiser. They divorced. They had three children, Benjamin, Jeremy and Deborah.
He married Laurie Orloff. They divorced. They had one child, Phoenix.
Dr Abbo was preceded in death by his father and by his son, Jeremy. He is survived by children Ben Abbo
(Kristin) of Greeley, CO, Deborah Abbo (Travis Mott) of Yakima, WA, Phoenix Abbo of Dallas, TX and
stepson Eliezer Dobrin (Becca) of Denton, TX. Also surviving are grandchildren Katrin Abbo, Erich AbboMott, Selda Abbo-Mott, Hanna Abbo-Mott, Lukas Abbo-Mott and Link Dobrin. Also surviving are his
mother, Gisela Halbasch of Antioch, CA, and sisters Karen Carlson (Dan) and Michelle Abbo-Pelletier
(Josh) of La Jolla CA.
