Florence Rose (Farnsworth) Rodriguez was born on a farm in a Mormon colony in Colonial Juarez Mexico on November 9, 1934. Sadly, her mother passed away four days later. She grew up being raised by her grandparents in San Francisco, California. This is where she met the love of her life, Robert (Bob), whom she ran away with to elope in 1952. She and Bob would go on to build a life and a family in Concord, California.
Florence was an adventurer who enjoyed traveling, leading her to open her own travel agency called Travel Flo. She also dazzled at hosting large gatherings for neighbors, friends, and family. Everyone was welcome and always left with a full belly and a happy heart. She was a dedicated and active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and worked in the Oakland Temple for many years.
Florence was the matriarch of a large and extended family. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Bob, her son-in-law Samuel, her grandson Matthew and granddaughter Jasmine.
Florence is survived by her children and their spouses, Susan (Scott), Linda, Daniel (David), and Kimberly; her grandchildren Christie (Amy), Bobby, Zachary (Redziput), Victoria, Kelley (Tom), Emily, Holly and Samuel; and her great-grandchildren Acacia, Briana (Dillon), Madison, Matthew, Madilyn, Marlena, and Maverick (with many more on the way). Additionally, Florence is survived by her best friend of over 75 years, Lena.
The interment for Florence will be held at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 10:15am. If you plan to attend, please arrive 30 minutes prior for the car line up process. The cemetery is located at 5810 Midway Rd, Dixon, CA 95620.
