Florence Lucille Adams, 96, passed away peacefully with her granddaughter, Michelle and her dog, Mula by her side on January 10, 2021, an hour and 37 minutes before her 97th birthday. Florence was born on January 11, 1924 to Alan and Thelma Corbett in Oakland, California. She married her childhood sweetheart, David Clifford Adams, in 1944. They were married for 62 years until her husband’s passing in 2006. Florence and Dave had three children, Nancy, Allen, and Gary Adams. She is predeceased by her husband David and two sons, Allen and Gary.
Florence was an avid golf player, sinking two hole in ones at the Lone Tree Golf Course in Antioch, California. She belonged to the women’s Delta Divots and was elected President and Chairman multiple times. She also belonged to the Antioch Women’s Club, where she held multiple positions in, as well. Florence was a Job’s Daughter of the Antioch Masonic Lodge #175. She was a proud member of the Antioch community, including volunteering at the Antioch Seniors Center. She made quite an impact on her community over her 49 years residing in Antioch since 1972. Florence and Dave loved traveling to Maui and Monterey and loved being out on one of their boats. They belonged to the Sun Valley Loafers RV Group for many years as well, traveling all over. She loved playing poker and bridge with her many groups that she belonged to over the years. She also loved dancing and spending her weekends with her husband at his Dance Jobs where he was a singer and trumpet player in the band, The Melo-Aires. He was known to sing quite a few songs to Florence and light her face up with a smile from ear-to-ear.
Florence survived by her best friend and dog, Mula; Daughter, Nancy; Daughter In-Law, Dana; Granddaughters, Michelle, Stacie, Cindy, and Christy; Grandson, Jason; many great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren whom she loved with all of her heart. She will be truly missed by many.
