Elizabeth “Liz” Nunn Boxler passed peacefully surrounded by her family in Oakley, California on July 20th, at the age of 84.
Liz is survived by her children Nancy and Dick Higley, Nicki and Rich Pepe and Nina Hawley; Grandchildren Maegen, Danny, Erika, Adam, Casey, Leo, Kelsey, Piper, and Scarlett; Great Grandchildren Aiden and Addison and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her granddaughter Samantha, her parents and her 6 siblings.
Liz was born on July 23rd 1933 in Winding Gulf, West Virginia to Flora and Stephen Nunn, she graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1950 and entered the Air Force.
After moving to Tucson Arizona she began working for Hughes Aircraft Company and was the very first woman Manufacturing Coordinator. She retired from Hughes after 33 years and began consulting for Avalon/IFS Software. Liz was an accomplished piano player and loved to be involved in many organizations. She taught her first Sunday School class when she was 9 years old and continued to be active in her church playing organ early on and teaching Sunday school at various times in her life.
A celebration of Liz’s life will be held at St. Marks Methodist Church, 1431 W Magee Rd., Tucson, AZ 85704 on October 11th, 2018 at 4pm with a reception immediately following. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Liz.
