Dulce S. Gestre, age 51, of Antioch, passed away peacefully while surrounded and embraced by her family and friends on February 20, 2019. Born in the Philippines on July 13, 1967, Dulce was the youngest child of Mario and Demetria (née De Guzman) San Pedro. She graduated cum laude from M.V. Gallego Foundation Colleges in 1988, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, where she also worked as a clinical instructor. She worked as a registered nurse in both the Philippines and the United Arab Emirates where she met her husband, Reynaldo, of 24 years. They immigrated to the United States in 1995.
Dulce was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend. She devoted her life to God, her husband, and her children. After the birth of her youngest daughter, she stopped working to dedicate all of her time to her family. She was her daughters’ biggest supporter. She loved spending time with the family dog, Romeo, who never left her side. She enjoyed cooking, baking and sharing her meals with others. Working out was her favorite hobby and she constantly motivated her family and friends to become more healthy and fit. She always prayed for peace, happiness, and the well-being of those she loved and was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Despite her small stature, she had the biggest heart and an unforgettable positive presence. She made friends with everyone she met and was known for her generosity, bright smile, contagious laughter, and vibrant personality. Her beauty, strength, warmth, selflessness, and love will be deeply missed by all those she has left behind.
She is survived by her husband, Reynaldo; daughters, Reeva and Angelica; father, Mario; brothers, Willie, Henry (Ditas), and Manny (Eva); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She joins her mother, Demetria, in eternal life with the Lord.
