Douglas Roman Fincke
February 25, 1945 – February 12, 2020
Douglas Roman Fincke passed away peacefully with his wife by his side, after a fun weekend with all the family gathered around him. Doug was born in San Antonio, Texas to Charles and Sally (Nowak) Fincke. He joined the Coast Guard in the late 60’s and was stationed in the Bay Area.
Doug enjoyed bowling, card games, chess, and cribbage. He especially enjoyed his garden and loved growing all kinds of vegetables. He worked as a Heat Treater in Oakland for 37 years, retiring in 2005.
Doug is survived by his wife, Anne Fincke, his children Stacey Bodie (Brooks), Victoria Anderson, Step-daughters, Melanie Thomas (Troy) and Jennifer Ravazza (Troy), grandchildren Matthew, Caitlyn (Nick), Jessica (T.J.), Alicia (Jacob), Julia, Hadley, Reese, and Grace, and great grandchildren Micah, Emmy, Ophelia, and Ethan. He is also survived by his brother Charles (Kathy) Fincke, sister Barbara (Robert) Combs. Doug is preceded in death by his brother Lloyd Fincke, sisters Loraine Fincke and Marlene Fincke.
Doug will be interred at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, a Celebration of life will be held at the family home on Wednesday, February 26, from 2 to 6 p.m. Doug will be greatly missed by his family and all that knew him.
