Basilio Maniaul Pangilinan, “Val,” passed away on May 3, 2019 at the age of 77. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Margarita Pangilinan; his daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren - Anne Margaret, Oliver, Christopher, Anthony, and Olivia Beech; his son and daughter-in-law - Elvisean Pangilinan and Gemma Lopez; his sisters - Lolita Ting, Carolina Basco, Rose Woodard, and Imelda Chico; and many more relatives he loved so dear.
Val was born in the Philippines on May 23, 1941. He made the San Francisco Bay Area his home in 1974; first buying a house in San Francisco, then raising his children in Daly City, and finally retiring and taking care of his grandchildren in Oakley, California.
Val was a devout Catholic and became a 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus. He had many passions including helping his hometown of Arayat, Pampanga, Philippines, and rooting for the Golden State Warriors, San Francisco 49ers and Giants. His biggest passion by far was his love for the King of Rock & Roll, Elvis Presley. Val became a lifelong fan of Elvis Presley after so many people pointed out his physical likeness to the King. He became an Elvis Tribute Artist, performing all over California, and competing in Las Vegas and Memphis. All along the way, he made countless friends who shared his love for Elvis Presley.
Val will be remembered as a loving and hardworking husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who always wanted to take care of everyone, and who loved God.
Thank you, Thank you very much.
