Kenneth "Ken" Culemann
One of the good guys.
Ken passed away with his family beside him May 8, 2017 following a brave battle with cancer at the age of 70. Ken was born December 29, 1946 in Pittsburg, CA to Otto and Margaret Culemann.
On March 3, 1968 Ken married Carla Soule in Martinez, CA. Together they had two daughters and made their home in Antioch, CA later moving to Lincoln, CA.
Ken was a graduate of Pacifica High School in 1964 and obtained an Associates Degree in business from Los Medanos College. He was a retired phone man and an honored military veteran serving in the US Navy and he retired as a SMSgt E- 8 from the 216th California Air National Guard Unit in Alameda, CA. During his retirement Ken spent his time traveling, cooking and camping with Carla, attending Nascar races and sporting events with his daughter Aimee, attending cub scout activities and local car races with his daughter Erika and his grandson Gage. Ken loved photography, the beauty of the outdoors and discovery of new places ALWAYS traveling the back roads. Ken also loved dogs and spent much of his retirement with his dog 'Rocky' beside him.
He is survived by his loving wife Carla in Lincoln, CA, his daughters Erika and husband Ed Speisser of Lincoln CA, Aimee Culemann of Gibsonville, NC, his grandson Gage Bell of Lincoln CA, his brother Lee and wife Glenda Culemann of Brentwood CA and his sister Margaret "Beth" and her husband Wilburn "Bud" Huntsinger of San Diego CA and numerous neices and nephews.
A celebration of Ken's life will be held on June 10th, 2017. It will be an open house from 1p-4p with lunch to be served. At 2pm we will gather for everyone to share their memories of Ken. The celebration will be held at his brother Lee's home, 727 Stuart Way, Brentwood CA in the Summerset 4 community. Gate access is required.
