Edith "Shorty" Pack aged 87, died peacefully on April 8, 2017, at her home in Antioch, California. Edith was born on April 12, 1929, in Los Angeles, Ca., the daughter of John Garcia and Aurora Leon. She had two sisters, Erlinda Clawson and Dora Johnson, and one brother, Arthur Garcia. Her parents and all of her siblings preceded her in death.
On June 6, 1948, Edith married the love of her life George Walter Pack, and they resided in various California cities until finally settling in Antioch 25 years ago. They would have celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary this June. They had seven children during their marriage, Donald, Robert, Janet, Diana, Vera, George and Donna. Their youngest son George died when he was 1 day old. She had one daughter-in-law, Lillian Pack (Donald), and three son-in-laws, David Ramirez (Diana), Ray McIntire (Vera), and Mark Jordan (Donna). She was blessed with many grandchildren, Kelly, Lisa, Donald, Brandi, Holly, Gail, Deanna, BobbieSue (all Packs), Michael Bermudez, Brittany, David and Isaiah Ramirez, Bobbi and Jeffrey Killian, Ryan Pack and George Jordan. Her grandson Michael Bermudez preceded her in death. She also has numerous great grandchildren.
In addition to raising her children and being a homemaker, she worked at Plastercrafts, an Arts and Crafts store. She also loved making arts and craft pieces as a hobby, and she was a great artist. She was an excellent bowler, and she bowled in several leagues throughout her life. But most of all, she was a loving mother and grandmother, and a good and kind person. She will be remembered with love, and missed always.
